Many people find me when feeling unfulfilled in one or many aspects of their lives; often, the journey from 'here' to 'there' feels overwhelming, uncertain and out of reach. If you can relate, you're not alone and I'm here to help.
I most often work with people seeking change in these areas:
Identity: You feel disconnected from your authentic self and have difficulty reconciling different parts of identity. These aspects may include racial identity, sexual orientation, and roles you take on in your family and at work. It may feel like suppressing certain parts of yourself due to fear of rejection or other negative consequence.
Self-esteem & shame: You feel self-doubt, 'not enough' or ‘bad’ about yourself, especially in comparison to others. It may feel like a constant need to prove your worth and/or struggling with feelings of deservingness.
Loneliness: You feel isolated and disconnected from friends, community and meaningful relationships. You may be navigating grief and loss (including loss of person, future dreams and opportunities). This can also be related to feeling ‘othered’ while navigating dominant narratives within our society (ie. living outside a ‘typical life path’ within a capitalist, cis-heteropatriarchal society)
Anxiety: You feel overwhelmed and find yourself catastrophizing (‘worst case scenario’ thinking). You may find yourself engaging in behaviours to prevent these negative outcomes, yet eventually other situations that trigger anxiety arise. It may feel like an unrelenting spiral.
My therapeutic modalities:
With over 10 years in the social service field and additional experience as a mindfulness and yoga instructor, I offer a holistic, integrated approach to wellness. From my experience working in healthcare, education, private practice, and community spaces, I'm able to skillfully incorporate both 'top-down' approaches such as reframing negative/unhelpful belief systems and 'bottom-up' processing that helps us regulate our nervous system so we are mindfully aware of our feelings, not consumed by them. Through individual therapy I will support you with:
Having a safer space to feel seen, heard and understood
Honouring your intersections with culturally responsive and identity affirming therapy
Untangling and understanding your thoughts, feelings and desires
Finding clarity on your unique vision of a meaningful life
Identifying internal and external barriers to your goals
Expanding and shifting your relationship to community and belonging
Developing powerful new narratives to replace worn-out stories that no longer serve you
Practicing skills to cope with stress, anxiety and overwhelm
I often utilize the framework of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidenced-based model that incorporates values exploration, mindfulness practices and behavioural change to transform your life. Other modalities I incorporate into our work include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment theory and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
I work from an anti-oppressive, strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. Click here for my Psychology Today profile.
Who I am as a therapist:
I prioritize building a relationship with you, holding a supportive space that honours your lived experiences and intersections. We work collaboratively towards your goals; in addition to talk therapy and if relevant to your goals, we may explore creative ways to integrate our work such as reflective journaling, guided meditation and practice exercises.
My holistic approach is informed by an extensive background in community health and comprehensive understanding of the mind-body connection through the study of yoga. I have been told that my style is warm, compassionate and relatable.
I'm looking forward to connecting with you.

Therapy is a collaborative process where the client and therapist work together toward mutually agreed upon goals. Research has consistently shown that the most important catalyst to change is the relationship with your therapist.
The first step is to book a free 15-minute consultation where I can learn more about your needs and you can get a feel for my relational style.
If it feels like a good fit, we book our first session where I will facilitate a comprehensive assessment and we collaborate on your goal(s) for therapy. This will guide the direction of our following sessions and frequency. I often see clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. There is flexibility based on your needs and goals.
